After receiving his law degree from the University of South Carolina, Bubba served as law clerk to the Honorable James E. Moore, Eighth Judicial Circuit (1991), and then as law clerk to the Honorable John P. Gardner, Court of Appeals of SC (1992).

He then returned to Newberry County and practiced as a sole practitioner in general practice. Bubba prosecuted cases as a special prosecutor for the Eighth Judicial Court in Newberry County and was hired as the Newberry City Attorney in 1995, a capacity he continues to serve today.

In 1998, the firm Rushing & Griffith, P.C. was formed with Bubba and his father-in-law, Don S. Rushing, as principals. The firm maintains two offices, one in Newberry, SC and the other in Lancaster, SC.

Bubba focuses primarily on general practice with an emphasis on real estate transactions, probate administration, and civil trial work. He has received a BV rating from Matindale-Hubbell.
